How to use the video block to add a video Klaviyo

In August of 2024, Klaviyo announced the addition of a Video Block to their email builder.

This feature addition mirrors the approach which many of the other popular ESP’s have adopted over the last couple of years. When announcing this new feature Klaviyo confirmed its stance on embedding certain features, including video, within emails, we have include their statement below.

Klaviyo is committed to setting our customers up for success. Because our testing shows that these features do not reliably render across all major email clients, we don’t support embedded surveys, forms, videos, or widgets inside of Klaviyo emails.

The position which Klaviyo is adopting here, regarding embedding features, such as video into emails, follows the same path as all the popular ESP’s.

With over 500 million emails sent last year, which included an embedded video, email marketers are gradually moving to embrace video email. This adoption seems to be in direct response to the data that clearly indicates that the consumers overwhelming preference when consuming content is to consume it as video.

In this post we walk you through a step-by-step guide on how to add a Video Block to your Klaviyo email. As a bonus we have also included a short, step-by-step guide, on how to embed a video into a Klaviyo email, that plays within the email.
